“With technology as our focus for 2012, the our stand remained a bustling platform throughout the two-day show,” says Vicon sales manager David Furber.
Among the new equipment was a vintage David Brown Cropmaster tractor, cleverly wired with a GPS antenna and IM Tellus dual screen terminal and linked to an RO-EDW weigh cell fertiliser spreader to illustrate that Vicon can make any tractor operate with isobus equipment.
“We wanted to prove that there is no limitation, no boundary and no obstacle when it comes to providing farmers with efficient solutions for their businesses,” he says. “And with GEOCONTROL, a spreading chart app for smart phone users and the know-how from our own Mechtronics centre, we want to help farmers move forward and get the best from their machines.”
The Vicon baler range was once again a focus of attention and the stand was cleverly devised to show-off the new range of fixed and variable chamber balers. Two models were used as an impressive focal point, being mounted on raised platforms on the right-hand side of the stand, while two other balers marked the front corners of the stand.
But it wasn’t just balers that dominated customer interest. The new iXtra front tank, and the latest iXclean sprayer tank cleaning systems were also of interest, as were mowers, rakes and tedders.
“Customers were left in no doubt that we are here to stay, with an impressive range of modern equipment for grassland and arable farmers, to help them become more profitable, and more efficient,” he says.
